DESIGN

  • Our partner architect firm Quatro Architecturo, found inspiration by old and new local traditions.

    The design creates a feeling of openness by blending and incorporating existing nature into the design.

    SYB Sayulita is a jungle hotel, distributed on six platforms in unevenness, with nine villas with three types of bedrooms for six, four or two guests. Which are connected by organic hanging bridges. On the ground floor there are free esplanades for recreational activities and outdoor exercise.

    The vision for SYB Sayulita is much bigger than the hotel itself. Our aim is to showcase what can be achieved with more realistic approaches to community, fitness and lifestyle. We want to demonstrate to the guest that they can sustain healthy habits while on a stay.

  • We have four major pillars;

    1. Environment

    2. Spirituality

    3. Fitness

    4. Community

    These pillars are often implemented in other hotels as an afterthought. Without compromise, we’ve made these at the center of our design, allowing us to reach a new unique potential as a hotel.

  • At SYB, we believe that extraordinary guest experiences go hand-in-hand with sustainability, community development, and conservation. By immersing guests in nature, we instill reverence toward the land. By employing local hands, we absorb generations worth of knowledge and storytelling. And by channeling simplicity through design, we advance the good-for-the-earth philosophy that less is more.

    From the beginning, we’ve adopted an intuitive approach to sustainability, factoring it into our decision-making process from the design and construction stages to our ongoing operations. Every physical aspect of our project—from the way our guest rooms are oriented in nature, mitigating the harsh effects of the sun and encouraging natural air flow throughout the space, to the reproduction of indigenous species in our garden. We are committed to leaving the world better than we found it, which is why you won’t find single-use plastics or non-biodegradable products in our hotel.

    Our hotel is the first building to be designed and built according to the highest energy efficiency standards in the Sayulita, Mexico and aim to meet the Paris agreement environmental standards. We estimate the hotel to save 85% of its annual energy consumption and harvest enough solar energy to cover both the hotel operations, and the energy needed to construct the building.

    With its ambition to lead by example, the SYB Hotel is looking at all aspects of the development. Through its design, energy-saving and production, waste management and recycling, and education willing to challenge the millennial traveller and share knowledge.
